Chapter 6: A person or expert in my field that I admire 馃挭
Maria Salomea Sk艂odowska-Curie, better known as Marie Curie, was a Polish scientist, specifically she was a physicist, mathematician and chemist pioneer in the field of radioactivity.
One of Marie's best known works was the discovery that compounds formed by thorium emitted rays spontaneously. This phenomenon was called radioactivity. Then, in 1898, she and her husband publicly announced that they had discovered a new element: polonium. A few months later they announced their new discovery: radium.
The reason why she is admirable to me is the fact that she was not only the first woman, but also the first person to receive two Nobel Prizes in different specialties; Physics and Chemistry. Something that at that time was almost impossible, due to the little credit that was given to the work of women in the scientific world. Basically, for me she is an icon for those women like me who are dedicated or want to dedicate themselves to science.
she was amazing, she even gave her life for chemistry and contributed to the great advances of today
